Easy Cheesy Tortilla Pull-Apart Bread

Turn flour tortillas into crispy garlic bread with this fun oven-baked method!

Garlic bread is one of those irresistible comfort foods, and this clever tortilla version gives the classic side a delicious twist. Instead of traditional bread, soft flour tortillas are folded accordion-style, packed with gooey mozzarella, and coated with a flavorful garlic and herb olive oil mixture.

Once baked, the tortillas become wonderfully crisp around the edges while staying soft, cheesy, and flavorful in the center. It’s an easy side dish or savory snack that works beautifully with pasta, soup, pizza, grilled meats, or just about any meal.

Say goodbye to ordinary tortillas and say hello to garlic bread magic!

Ingredients Needed

  • 8 flour tortillas (soft taco size)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1-2 tbsps grated parmesan (optional)

Step 1

Start by folding each flour tortilla back and forth like an accordion. Arrange the folded tortillas upright and snugly inside an 8×8-inch baking dish. Keeping them close together helps create that fun pull-apart effect once everything is baked.

Step 2

Next, fill the folds with shredded mozzarella. About 1½ cups should be plenty, but there’s no need to measure too precisely. Simply tuck plenty of cheese into the spaces between the tortillas. More cheese only makes this cheesy bread better!

Step 3

In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly so the seasonings are distributed throughout the oil. An immersion blender can also be used if you want an especially smooth mixture.

Step 4

Generously spoon the seasoned olive oil over the tops of the tortillas and into the folds. Make sure to coat as much of the surface as possible. Give the oil mixture another stir as you go because the herbs and seasonings can settle toward the bottom.

Step 5

For an extra savory finish, sprinkle grated Parmesan over the top. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for another 8–10 minutes, or until the tortillas are crisp, golden brown, and the cheese has melted completely.

Once the cheesy tortilla bread comes out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes before serving. The tortillas will be crispy on the outside, warm and gooey in the middle, and packed with delicious garlic and herb flavor.

Then comes the best part—pull the tortillas apart and dig in! Serve this cheesy pull-apart bread alongside your favorite dinner, or enjoy it as a simple snack whenever you’re craving something crispy, cheesy, and satisfying.
